He leaves a sweet trace in the air in the dawn
He leaves a sweet taste on the lips that his, fingers have drawn
He carries the picture inside as he whistles a tune
And though it is winter he’s warm as it’s the middle of June

Her heart is an ocean he’s dying to drown in her eyes
He leaves with a notion there never will be goodbyes

He sits by the desk and he picks up the phone to tell her, nothing and all
She smiles on the end of the line and she says I’m so happy you called
